China sold 746,000 new energy passenger vehicles in September

(JW Insights) Oct 12 -- China sold 746,000 new energy passenger vehicles in September, a year-on-year increase of 22.1% and a month-on-month increase of 4.2%, according to data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) released on October 11.

The new energy passenger vehicle market retailed 5.188 million units from January to September, a year-on-year increase of 33.8%, said CPCA.

In September, China exported 91,000 new energy passenger vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 107% and a month-on-month increase of 16%, accounting for 25.4% of passenger vehicle exports. Tesla China, BYD, and SAIC were the top three by number, exporting 30,566, 28,039, and 12,678 cars, respectively.

With the scale advantage of China's new energy and market expansion needs, more and more Chinese-made new energy product brands are going overseas, and their recognition continues to increase with improved service networks. As a result, the new energy export market is still moving with promising prospects, said CPCA.
